| Scan Optics Onyx - OCR Through ISIS and TWAIN |
Onyx is a revolutionary new approach to document classification. Onyx’s design incorporates a sophisticated classification system and Scan-Optics’ open track capture platform. Onyx identifies documents during the capture process, tags the corresponding images, and sorts the hardcopy into pockets. Onyx is the first system of its kind to offer OCR data through TWAIN and ISIS. With Onyx any ISIS or TWAIN application can take advantage of OCR without changing the basic application.
Onyx’s vacuum transport provides a higher percentage of documents processed without jams. The open track enables easier jam clearance providing higher operator efficiency while lowering operating costs.
If you need to classify hard and soft copy, at 240 ppm Onyx is simply the most cost effective classification system in the market. |
| The
SO Series Scanners - The Markets Best Price Performance |
The SO Series offers the best price performance equation in production scanning. Rated at 240 pages per minute, the SO Series provides a clear path for scanner consolidation allowing organizations to reduce labor costs while driving down the overall cost to capture an image. The SO Series renders high quality color images by blending the best in optics, illumination, paper transport, and image output technologies. The system easily captures a wide range of document sizes and weights.
For over 37 years Scan-Optics has led the industry with in-line recognition solutions. The SO Series improves upon this legacy by moving these capabilities away from proprietary boards and into software providing for easy upgrades to document classification and data capture. The SO Series’ open architecture is built on Microsoft Windows and operates on an Intel platform allowing it to take advantage of the latest advancements in computer processing. |
| Key
features & benefits of the SO Series |
- Performance/Price – rated at 240ppm
at an incredibly low, low end-user price
- Benefits: best performance-to-price
ratio, reduced total cost of ownership
- Field Upgradeable - single platform
for Image-only and OCR scanning needs with the same machine
- Benefits: safeguards and maximizes
customer investment
- Image Capture - bitonal, grayscale and
color output formats, 200/300/400 DPI color capture, auto
dropout, image enhancement, 12.8" FOV, lamp life of 2000
hours;
- Benefits: more image output options,
grayscale capture provides better OMR results and
image viewing for KFI, color capture yields more
accurate and higher quality images for archiving,
the longer lamp life saves hard dollars (investment
lasts 4x as long -or- investing 4x less on lamps)
- Document Stacker – stacks intermixed
forms, stacker full indicator, single pocket with optional
2-32 pockets available upon release of OCR machine
- Benefits: The SO Document Dtacker
offers more precise stacking of intermixed forms
of all sizes and weights, documents stay in order
(FIFO) reducing labor after scanning
- Transport - Vacuum belts, open track
, variable speed settings available based on image resolution,
auto shutoff when external pressure is applied to the track,
scanner operator controls are 508 compliant, single transport
is field upgradeable from image-only capture to inline
recognition
- Benefits: the vacuum belts provide
a higher percentage of documents processed without
jams, the open track allows easier jam clearance
thus providing higher operator efficiency and lower
operational cost, the auto shut-off feature increases
operator safety, and Section 508 compliance translates
to a handicapped accessible machine
- Optional Ink Jet Printer - pre- or post
image capture(non intelligent), of up to one line, 40 characters
- Benefits: the pre-capture IJP
serializer marks the documents by imprinting a number
on the image, this feature allows faster and much
easier retrieval of the images once they are archived,
the post-capture IJP serializer can be used to mark
the paper as “read”
- Maintainability - 3400 BTU/hour, operating
temperature range of 50-95 degrees F, MTBF/180 hours, MTTR/less
than 1 hour, unlimited duty cycle based on standard preventive
maintenance as provided by Access Services
- Benefits: the wider operating
temperature range and lower cooling requirement provide
lower operational and environmental costs
- Other Key Features - Paper weight ranges
from 13#-150# offer more paper weight options, optional
MICR reader allows check reading, Scan-Optics DSS/DDS provides
application software, self calibration of camera lighting
and ccd devices prevent service calls, ISO certification
ensures corporate commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
